Physicians Assistants

Our licensed physician assistants take a medical approach to treating individual skin conditions under the direction and supervision of our board-certified dermatologists. As members of the Georgia Association of Physician Assistants, they focus on ensuring that all procedures follow professional medical guidelines, while providing personalized advice, support and instruction to patients and families.

Jennifer Avaliani, PA-C

Areas Served: Buckhead

Jennifer B. Avaliani is a Certified Physician Assistant with a special interest in dermatology. She graduated with a Masters of Medical Science degree from Emory University’s Physician Assistant program with honors in 2001, and joined the practice in 2002. She is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Georgia Association of Physician Assistants, and the Georgia Dermatology Physician Assistant Society. She enjoys spending time with her husband and three boys.

Lisa Berger, PA-C

Areas Served: Marietta

Lisa M. Berger is an experienced physician assistant whose clinical interests include skin cancer prevention and treatment, surgery and pediatric/adolescent dermatology. She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and psychology, and a Masters of Medical Science degree from Emory University’s School of Family and Preventative Medicine. She has also completed additional training in oncology at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. She joined the practice in 2000. Fluent in German and French, she lives in Atlanta and has three children.

Chhavi Lal, PA-C

Chhavi A. Lal is a board-certified physician assistant who focuses on all aspects of medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. She graduated with distinction from Quinnipiac University in Connecticut in 2002 with a Masters of Medical Science degree, and is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Georgia Dermatology Physician Assistant Society. She is married to Subodh Lal, M.D., a gastroenterologist in Cobb County.

Chason Worthy, PA-C

Chason Worthy is experienced in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. She earned a Masters of Medical Science with honors from the Emory University Physician Assistant program in 2005. She is an member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, Georgia Academy of Physician Assistants, and Georgia Dermatology Physician Assistant Society. She enjoys spending time with her husband and family.

Beth Gundy, PA-C

Beth A. Gundy is a board-certified Physician Assistant with interests in medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and a Masters of Physician Assistant from the Medical College of Georgia. She joined the practice in 2011 and is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Georgia Association of Physician Assistants, the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and the Georgia Dermatology Physician Assistant Society. Fluent in Spanish, she enjoys to travel and is an avid football fan to her alma mater, The Ohio State University Buckeyes.

Laura Frances Smith, PA-C

Laura Frances Smith is a board certified Physician Assistant with special interest in dermatology. She completed her Physician Assistant degree at the Medical College of Georgia. She also holds a bachelors degree in Exercise & Sport Science prior to practicing dermatology. She specialized in Electrophysiology /Cardiology in Macon, Georgia. She is a member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants and the Georgia Dermatology Physician Assistant Society. She is excited to join the practice in 2012. She enjoys learning new things, people, and her king charles cavalier, Arnie.
