Summer Travel Skin Care Tips
Summer Travel Skin Care Tips
Even though summer travel is not in full swing, we are still trying to find safe “escapes.” Between long drives in a stuffy car and recirculated air on planes, travel can wreak havoc on your skin. When you’re packing that string bikini, caftan, and big floppy hat, don’t forget your moisturizer, sunscreen, and cleanser as well.
Here are five tips to keep your skin happy and healthy during those long travel days:
1. Stay hydrated. Always remember to drink plenty of water and moisturize your skin before you go. The lightweight Skin Better Science-Trio Balancing Moisturizer or the Skin Medica HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator are ideal for hot summer months.
2. Don’t forget your sunscreen-no matter the destination. Two of our favorites for travel are the ISDIN-Eryfotona Ageless Tinted (SPF 50) and the Elta MD-UV Clear. We offer many other choices that may suit your specific needs on our website or in office.
3. Always carry your favorite face cleanser and moisturizer in your carry-on bag. If your bags get lost, you’ll still be able to take care of your skin. Two of our favorite face cleansers are the Skin Better Science-Oxygen Infusion Wash and the Revision Brightening Face Wash.
4. Don’t wear long-lasting makeup on long travel days. Revision Skincare Intellishade has a natural tint and provides great hydration along with SPF protection. Another great way to keep your face hydrated and fresh is by using the ZO Complexion Renewal Pads, NuFace Prep-N-Glow Cleanse, and the Exfoliation Cloths. As always, continue to incorporate HydraFacial’s or exfoliating Diamond Glow treatments every few weeks to keep your skin well-nourished.
5. Consider the climate when packing your skin care products. For a warmer destination, be sure that your products are non-comedogenic so they don’t clog your pores. If you are traveling to a colder destination, pack your favorite moisturizer.
